Help Me Build a School in East Africa

After my volunteer work at a children’s daycare and school in Moshi near Mount Kilimanjaro, I became aware of the difficult conditions the school faces, especially during the rainy season when the classrooms are severely damaged and the children are left in need of a safer learning environment. I worked alongside the school’s owners and a draftsman/construction worker to review an initial estimate for repairs, but over time the original program leadership was removed and the effort has shifted toward building a new school on inherited family land.

For the Children of Kilimanjaro

Tanzania has truly become a second home to me, and the children of East Africa have deeply touched my heart. It is now my mission to raise as much support as possible to help bring this new school to life, especially given the strength of the U.S. dollar and the impact collective support can make. My long-term goal is to return and actively participate in the building process in person, helping create a safe and lasting educational space for the children I care so deeply about.

Supporting Jithubutu: A Community Mission

After my time volunteering in Moshi, I migrated to another town in Tanzania to support an incredible social and cultural space called "Jithubutu", located in the vibrant city of Arusha. This urban community center empowers young people through free programs such as dance, entrepreneurship workshops, language classes, a computer room, a library, and board games—creating a space for learning, connection, and cultural exchange.

A Journey of Impact in Tanzania

During my time there, I offered English conversation practice, video production support alongside the media content creator, and unique introductory AI insight classes, while also participating in the many creative and cultural activities like dance. Most importantly, I built meaningful relationships with the individuals who dedicate themselves to keeping this space alive for the community. Although the programs are free, the center relies entirely on outside resources, and there is a real need for support such as laptops in good condition, external hard drives, board games, books, and more. Stay tuned and join me as I begin fundraising efforts to help sustain and grow this important community space.
